(Patria) – Boris Johnson will be the new Prime Minister of Great Britain after being elected the new leader of the ruling Conservative Party.
The former Mayor of London, who has long wished to lead Great Britain, won the race against Jeremy Hunt by securing 66% of the votes, or 92,153 out of 46,656. The turnout within the Conservative Party was 87.4%.
Johnson will formally take office on Wednesday afternoon.
Theresa May will answer final questions in the House of Commons before officially submitting her resignation to the Queen.
After that, the newly elected Boris Johnson will head to Buckingham Palace for the official confirmation of his appointment by the Queen. An address will follow at the well-known Downing Street 10 address.
