Bordo team left without a coach, Sarajevo board accepted Mehmed Janjoš's resignation

Mehmed Janjoš is no longer the coach of FK Sarajevo, the club from Koševo announced on its official Facebook page, reports the Patria agency.

Sarajevo was defeated 1:2 by Zrinjski at Koševo yesterday in the first round match of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which led Janjoš to submit his resignation.

Immediately after the match, Janjoš stated that "the resignation is his moral obligation and that it is time for someone else to take his place and try to shake up the team."

The management of the Football Club Sarajevo accepted the resignation of Mehmed Janjoš, who after almost a year ends his third coaching stint at the Bordo club. After the concluded meeting and the official termination of cooperation, Janjoš took the opportunity to thank the club's collective for their cooperation in the past period.

- I take this opportunity to thank everyone at the club. It was a great pleasure to work again at the dearest club. Thank you all for your support, our Bordo family. I owe gratitude to the players, the coaching staff, the club management, the employees, and everyone who believed in me. Of course, I am also grateful to the fans for their support, and I sincerely wish the club to win a trophy - said Janjoš, adding:

- I am not leaving Sarajevo, I am just moving my place from the coaching bench near the scoreboard, on the east stand, and I will cheer and support my Sarajevo at every match.

In his last term on the Sarajevo bench, Janjoš spent almost a year, and the club under the leadership of this football expert played 36 matches, with a record of 19 wins, 9 draws, and 8 losses. The collective of FK Sarajevo thanks Mehmed Janjoš for his contribution to the club's results in the past period.

For now, there is no confirmation from the club on who will succeed Janjoš on the bench, and according to some sources from the club, the wish of Sarajevo's leaders is the current coach of Krupa, Slobodan Starčević.

Thus, both Sarajevo clubs were left without a coach on the same day. Before Janjoš's resignation, Slavko Petrović was dismissed from the Željezničar bench, and Admir Adžem was appointed in his place.
