The Bordo Team Eagerly Awaits the Derby

Following FK Željezničar's press conference this morning in the Blue Hall of Grbavica, FK Sarajevo also addressed the media today ahead of the eternal Sarajevo derby.

Head coach Simon Rožman and captain Almedin Ziljkić were given the floor.

They are aware of how much a potential derby win means to the club and fans, and they want to give their best on Sunday.

"As far as we're concerned, we can't wait for the match. We have another chance to show everyone our best. We want to play as we have been, present ourselves in a way that people have something to see, and be happy and cheerful, reports sportsport.ba.

That's the basic goal from the very beginning. There has been a lot of talk about the match being special, and it's clear that the opponent will be at an energy level they haven't been at before. I want my players to be like that in every training session, it doesn't matter who is on the other side. They have an experienced team, it won't be an open match, but we are thinking about ourselves.

The atmosphere is great, we're working well, the players are getting better and better, and things are moving in the direction we want. Regarding the squad, Mulalić is injured, so we'll see what happens," said Rožman in his opening address.

How do you react to Nermin Bašić's statement that it's not all about money and that Željezničar's advantage is their youth academy players?

"Every coach has their arguments, every coach has their vision. We want to play fast, with as many chances and as many goals as possible. Everyone needs to be part of the team, it's evident in training that everyone is aware of the competition, and that's my wish."

Are you feeling pressure before the derby, as Sarajevo hasn't won a derby in a long time?

"No. I'm new here, history is important, whatever it may be. I can't influence certain factors, I don't worry about that, I can influence what happens today in training, what happens in the match..."

Željezničar plays poorly away from home, how do you see that?

"I won't say how we'll play, but it's known how we play. We want to be dominant every second of the match, we want to be aggressive and high up the pitch."

You know Bašić from Slovenia, you played against each other five times. How much can that help?

"I respect my colleague. There are no friends when it's a match. The league in Slovenia is different from here, so now my team is playing against his. I hope we will show what we have, the captain can talk about the dressing room, and I think we are on the right track to be at the required level. I believe in our process."

Ziljkić also spoke.

"We analyzed Željo's game, honestly, it doesn't matter if they are in a crisis or not, they are a serious team. It's up to us to enter the match seriously, and I hope everything will go as we practice in training."
