The BiH national football team was defeated by the Belgian team tonight with a score of 4:0 in the 2nd round of World Cup qualifiers, writes Patria.
The Dragons played an extremely poor game, especially in the first half. The Belgians took the lead in the 26th minute when Emir Spahić carelessly put a ball crossed from the side into Asmir Begović's net.
The most experienced BiH player scored an own goal, making the opponent's path to victory easier, and Eden Hazard increased the hosts' lead just two minutes later.
After the first half ended with a score of 2:0, the Belgians continued their attacks towards Begović's goal in the second 45 minutes.
After the second corner for Belgium, Dries Mertens crossed from the left, and Toby Alderweireld ran to the near post and flicked the ball past Begović, who, it seems, could have reacted better.
From the 79th minute, Belgium led 4:0 against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the scorer of the fourth goal was Romelu Lukaku.
After a poor performance that should be forgotten as soon as possible, BiH should focus on the match in Zenica on Monday, where the Dragons will play their third qualifying match against Cyprus.
From the first minute, the following players played for the BiH national team tonight: Begović - Bičakčić, Spahić, Kolašinac, Zukanović - Medunjanin, Pjanić, Jajalo, Lulić - Ibišević, Džeko.
Belgium: Courtois, Meunier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, J. Lukaku - Witsel, Fellaini, Mertens, Carrasco, E. Hazard - Lukaku.
