Boycott in BiH continues: Next week, Wednesday and Friday are not shopping days, demand for price reduction in shopping centres

(Patria) - The Facebook group Boycott in BiH, which gathers more than 52,000 members, announced that the boycott has succeeded throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Media, group members and employees themselves report a terrible drop in turnover. We are all united. Regardless of religious, national and party affiliation. Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Trebinje, Tuzla, Zenica, Živinice..."

They further state that through a survey conducted in the group, they democratically determined by a majority vote that the boycott continues until demands are met and prices are reduced by introducing an additional day for the boycott. Next week, Wednesday and Friday are introduced as boycott days.

"The boycott is aimed against large retail chains that sell food, beverages and household supplies. The boycott is not aimed at smaller shops, technology stores, clothing, footwear, cafes and restaurants.

The demands we put forward are as follows towards retailers:

- reduction of margins and prices of all products.
- abandonment of agreements between retail chains and suppliers regarding oligopoly and monopoly.

towards governments:

- limitation of margins for all items.
- reduction of VAT on food and non-alcoholic beverages, baby food, baby equipment, toys, medicines and medical devices to 5 percent.
- reduction of contribution rates by at least 10 percent.
- reduction of income tax to 5 percent.
- increase of salaries, pensions, disability benefits and other social benefits by 10 percent.
- rigorous sanctions for margin violators.
- relief for the economy/employers regarding various fiscal and parafiscal levies.
