Bogunić claims there are no problems with appointments in RS, despite no appointments for four months

(Patria) - The President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, Sanin Bogunić, told N1 that the HJPC is working at full capacity and that "there are no problems with appointing judges in RS", despite the fact that for a full four months there have been no appointments in the judicial institutions of that entity.

We remind you that the last such appointment occurred in February of this year; after that, appointments were made exclusively for the levels of BiH, Federation, and Brčko District.

Bogunić also stated that the HJPC has good cooperation with institutions from RS, but the fact that a whole series of calls for applications for courts in that entity were blocked casts a shadow on that claim.

We remind you that appointments in RS were stopped after political decisions by the authorities of that entity not to recognize the decisions of state institutions of BiH, including those from the judiciary.

Bogunić also announced the formation of a new department that will check the property of judges and prosecutors, which was welcomed as a step towards greater transparency.

However, the question remains how sincere such measures are when key processes continue to take place selectively.
