Blanuša not disappointed, admits defeat and thanks voters

(Patria) - SDS candidate Branko Blanuša addressed the party's election headquarters and spoke after SNSD declared Siniša Karan the winner in the repeated elections for the President of Republika Srpska.

Blanuša stated at the beginning that the results from approximately 90 percent of the polling stations where the elections were repeated are known.

"I want to thank all the people from SDS and opposition parties who put in efforts to organize today, the observers and others who were involved. I want to thank all the people who came out to vote and those who voted freely. In the end, I must say that it is very surprising. We see that everything that happened at the polling stations in previous days was present. I will not talk about what was observed, but huge resources were invested in these elections through blackmail and other things that were done, and this is particularly evident through vote buying," said Blanuša.

He added that RS will have a president in the coming period.

"It is good that institutions start to function," he emphasized.

In the end, he said he was not disappointed.

"This is one game and one experience," concluded Blanuša, alluding to the fact that both victory and defeat are possible in a game.

We remind you that the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) declared victory for its candidate Siniša Karan in the repeated early elections for the President of the Republika Srpska.

Siniša Karan (SNSD) won 218,481 votes, and Branko Blanuša (SDS) won 209,200 votes, according to data from the SNSD headquarters.
