Blagaj Tekke returned to the management of the Islamic Community of Mostar

By the contract signed by representatives of the Turkish tourism agency Fidan d.o.o., the Vakuf Directorate, the Mufti's Office of Mostar, and the Islamic Community of Mostar, the Blagaj Tekke complex has been returned to the management of the Islamic Community of Mostar, reports the Patria News Agency.

After two and a half years of operation by the Turkish tourism agency, the reputation of the architectural complex has been raised to an enviable level. Representatives of the Islamic Community of Mostar expressed their sincere gratitude to the management of the Turkish agency Fidan d.o.o., who recognized the Islamic Community of Mostar as authentic and respectable guardians of vakuf property.

- In the past year and a half, we have learned a lot about the functioning of this type of facility, and therefore we consider it our obligation to thank them publicly. In any case, we understand this friendly gesture as our additional obligation to treat the Blagaj Tekke with much more care and responsibility, which, in addition to its religious significance, also represents a first-class national monument, said the president of the Islamic Community of Mostar, Ramiz Jelovac.

The renovation of the Blagaj Tekke architectural complex was completed in 2012.

The main, three-story Musafirhana building on the ground floor provides access to the main courtyard of the Tekke, and at the same time connects the other areas of this facility. In order to improve the quality of use of the entire ensemble and the safety of users, special sanitary solutions with purifiers have been implemented, and buildings with shelter characteristics have been constructed.

The structures of the doksat were made using traditional techniques from timber, and the roof structures were made of timber, constructed in a traditional manner and covered with stone slabs.

All construction details (carpentry, locksmithing, interior equipment, etc.) were designed according to traditional models of buildings from Blagaj from the same historical period. The total investment is estimated at around one million marks, it was announced from the Riyaset.
