(Patria) - According to currently available information from the BIHAMK Information Centre, protests by truck drivers are not directly aimed at passenger traffic and no blockades of border crossings for passenger vehicles are planned.
Currently, at the border crossings: Izačić, Velika Kladuša, Kamensko and Rača, the freight terminal is blocked, while there are no major difficulties for passenger traffic. Nevertheless, we advise all drivers planning trips to exercise caution and recommend they obtain information via the BIHAMK hotline 1325 or follow current information on our website: www.bihamk.ba
Given that the new school year begins today for most students, we ask drivers to be extremely cautious due to the increased number of children on the streets, especially near schools. Parents, if you are driving your children to school, do not forget to BUCKLE them with seat belts. Children up to 150 cm in height must sit on a booster seat so that the belt does not cross their face. It is FORBIDDEN for children under 12 to sit in the front passenger seat. Schoolchildren, follow and respect traffic signs (traffic lights and pedestrian crossings). We wish you a happy and successful school year, be careful when coming to and leaving school.
Roadworks are ongoing on the A1 motorway section Podlugovi - Sarajevo north, as well as on the main roads: Semizovac-Olovo, Jablanica-Prozor (Mirci) and Posušje-GP Osoje.
We remind you that on the main road Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes total weight.
At border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are currently no longer than 10 to 30 minutes. The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
Please note that waiting times at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Drivers have access to video surveillance cameras on our website www.bihamk.ba.
Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tonnes maximum permissible weight at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tonnes are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses may use the Šepak border crossing. Freight vehicles may travel via the Šepak border crossing from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 (on weekends they may cross during the 22:00 to 06:00 period).
