Bihać baker distributes free bread to vulnerable citizens

A caterer from Bihać has decided to distribute bread free of charge to socially vulnerable fellow citizens, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Amir Mujić, owner of the bakery and restaurant "Amfora", located in the Bihać settlement of Ozimice, distributes about ten loaves of bread every day that he could not sell the previous day, and also distributes fresh pastries. For some Bihać residents, Mujić's bread is the only guaranteed meal they have during the day.

- Due to economic calculations, we make pastries only as much as we can sell for that day, but there are always a few loaves left that we cannot sell. So that we don't throw them away, we decided to give them to fellow citizens who are socially vulnerable - Mujić told the agency Patria, adding that he also distributes fresh pastries every day, because there isn't always enough bread from "yesterday" and it's hard for him to turn people away from his bakery hungry.

Mujić said that it would be good if other caterers also stopped throwing away food, but rather sorted it properly and distributed it to vulnerable fellow citizens, which would greatly ease their daily lives, writes NAP.
