Bihać to host BiH Athlete of the Year Awards

SARAJevo, (Patria) - A press conference was held in Bihać today announcing the Athlete of the Year of Bosnia and Herzegovina event, which will be held on January 26th next year in this city.

By decision of the Presidency of the Sports Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the host and organizer of the 77th Athlete of the Year of Bosnia and Herzegovina awards is the Una-Sana Canton, i.e., the City of Bihać.

"We will have the opportunity to do it here in Bihać now, and I am extremely pleased that this tradition will continue in the coming years throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Vlatko Glavaš, president of the Organizing Committee "Athlete of the Year BiH".

"We will do everything in our power, and even what we cannot do, we will find a solution to solve that problem and show and prove that the people of Krajina have always been good hosts," said Emir Dautović, president of the Sports Association of USK.

"Everyone has the right to nominate their representative, from any sport that achieved results in 2021. Not only in this year, but also for their lifetime achievement," explained Muhamed Bikić, member of the Presidency of the Sports Association of BiH.

The selection will be made in ten main categories, and the patron of the event is the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić.

"It is a great honor and pleasure to host such a sporting event, and it is a great honor to tell the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the institutions of this country stand behind such a sports event," believes Mustafa Ružnić, Prime Minister of USK.

Applications and nominations are possible until mid-January next year. In order to promote the event, several conferences of this type are planned, where more details about the Athlete of the Year of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2021 will be presented.
