Bosnia and Herzegovina needs reforms, austerity measures, unblocking the path to the EU...

The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), at today's session, welcomed the completion of the election results implementation process at the state and federal level, and called for the formation of governments in the Central Bosnia, Herzegovina-Neretva, and Livno Cantons as soon as possible, the party announced, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

It was concluded that the SDA Presidency expects the elected governments to begin intensive work on priority tasks, especially on unblocking Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic integration, establishing a simple and effective coordination mechanism, and defining a "roadmap" for sectoral reforms so that BiH obtains candidate status for EU membership by the end of the year.

SDA demands that the Council of Ministers of BiH and the FBiH Government decisively undertake priority reforms related to strengthening the economy, creating new jobs, improving citizens' living standards, and more effective social protection.

In particular, it was requested that austerity measures be implemented at all levels of government, and due attention be paid to disenfranchised workers.

The SDA Presidency has tasked the holders of executive and legislative power in the FBiH to proceed with the procedure for adopting the new Law on the Allocation of Public Revenues of FBiH in the regular procedure, in accordance with all prepared analyses for all cantons, municipalities, and the Federation of BiH.

At the session of the SDA Presidency, it was stated that this party condemns the initiative to adopt a declaration in the RS Assembly regarding the request for an assessment of the constitutionality of the Law on Holidays of RS before the Constitutional Court of BiH. SDA believes that this is a gross pressure on the Constitutional Court of BiH and interference in the work of judicial institutions. Instead of this, SDA deputies in that Assembly will propose a declaration by which the RS Assembly should express its unconditional readiness to respect the principles of independence and autonomy of courts and the prohibition of political interference in their work.

The SDA Presidency analyzed the course of the election process within the party, which will conclude with the holding of the Sixth Regular Congress of SDA scheduled for May 26 this year. It was determined that all activities are proceeding according to the planned dynamics.

The Party Presidency is convinced that the upcoming Congress will be a congress confirming the strength of SDA, its unity, and a prosperous program that will contribute to the stability and economic development of BiH, the SDA announced, reports Patria.
