The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of healthcare and medical sciences between the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed with the aim of enhancing cooperation between our countries in the field of healthcare and medical sciences, which will contribute to the improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries and the health of their peoples.

The signatory parties will promote cooperation in the field of healthcare on the principles of equality, reciprocity, and mutual benefit. Considering the current moment in which this memorandum was signed, its significance for BiH today should be emphasized. First and foremost, it will help in the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases. It will encourage medical education and scientific research, but also enable the exchange of healthcare specialists, which is very important for Bosnia and Herzegovina as we are currently facing the problem of a shortage of specialized doctors.

Cooperation is also possible in other areas of healthcare for which the signatory parties show common interest, and it will be carried out through the exchange of information, exchange of delegations and healthcare specialists, and encouraging the participation of specialists in conferences and scientific gatherings.

Gratitude was expressed to the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China for recognizing the moment and supporting the initiative to sign the Memorandum during the COVID-19 pandemic.
