BiH-Estonia: Dragons to start the match with more forwards

The BiH national football team will start the qualifiers for the World Cup, to be played in Russia in 2018, in Zenica against Estonia. A press conference was held today regarding the match, attended by Mehmed Baždarević, the coach, Edin Džeko, the captain of the BiH team, and Emir Spahić, a defender of the BiH national team, reports the Patria news agency.

There were no opening remarks from the coach and players, and the journalists' questions began immediately. The first question was whether this national team is more talented than the one that played in the previous qualifiers, given that coach Baždarević has been with the team for a longer time...

"The national team is composed of almost the same players, we have added some younger ones, and something new that was missing in the previous qualifiers. Those who played in the previous qualifiers will carry these ones too, along with those who have proven they can be counted on. I expect the most from the players who were here, showed quality, I expect them to bear the biggest burden in the qualifiers that await us tomorrow," said Baždarević.

Edin Džeko scored two goals in the 7-0 victory against Estonia, when Ćiro Blažević was in charge. Can we expect something similar tomorrow at Bilino Polje?

"Regarding that match when we won 7-0, that's history. It's difficult to repeat such a result. Anything is possible in football, and everyone plays football today. I don't think we should think that way. The most important thing for us is to start the qualifiers in the best possible way, and that is with three points," said Džeko.

"The team is composed of guys who played in the qualifiers and who are in their playing prime. There were guys at the Kirin Cup that we can count on. The qualifiers are long, and I hope everyone will get their chance. Experience first, we have alternatives - but the start of the qualifiers is the task of those who started the previous qualifiers too," explained Baždarević.

"Regarding Bešić, whether it will be Medunjanin, Pjanić, Vrančić, or one of the players who played in Japan... an alternative will be sought there. Whoever plays instead of him will give their best to replace him," he explained, adding at the end of his address: "We will start the match with two, and perhaps even more forwards," N1 reports.
