The Founding Assembly of the Professional Footballers' Union of BiH was held today in Zenica, writes the Patria News Agency.
The purpose and main goal of establishing this Union is the desire to introduce changes in professional football in BiH, and these changes will primarily relate to ensuring legal protection and legal assistance for Bosnian-Herzegovinian footballers, as well as educating young footballers who are just starting their careers about their rights and obligations arising from contracts with clubs.
The Union will also establish close cooperation with similar trade union organizations in the region (Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Macedonia) whose unions already play a significant role on the national football scene.
- The Football Association of BiH takes care of the footballers of football clubs in BiH, but the establishment of the Union is certainly a step forward in protecting their rights - stated Elmir Pilav.
Countries in the region have similar unions, and the goal is for the BiH Professional Footballers' Union to become part of the international organization that represents footballers globally.
Vitomir Paškalj was elected President of the Union, and Aldin Đidić was elected Vice-President, writes Patria.
