Radio Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina has successfully completed the first phase of digitalization of production capacities, and part of the old analog equipment from the period of the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo has been replaced, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
Today, the digital platform will be formally launched, so viewers who follow the program via cable and telecom operators will immediately have a digital signal, implying high quality of picture and sound. The quality of the picture will depend on the cable operator, according to BHRT. BHT broadcast the past World Cup in Brazil in HD resolution.
Users of the terrestrial network will still have an analog signal. On this occasion, a reception was organized in the Grey House, a formal promotion of BHT1 digitalization, attended by a large number of guests from public, political, and cultural life of BiH.
BHRT General Director Muhamed Bakarević, BHRT Supervisory Board President Valentina Rupčić, and Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH Damir Hadžić symbolically cut the red cable, thus symbolically marking the digitalization system.
Numerous guests at the reception
The final deadline for switching from analog to digital system is June 17, 2015.
