Bosnia and Herzegovina athletes at the Paralympics: Competing in sitting volleyball and shot put

At the Paralympic Games, to be held from September 7 to 18, 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the colors of BiH will be defended by the sitting volleyball team led by coach Mirza Hrustemović, and two athletes Dževad Pandžić (shot put) and Dženita Klico (shot put), reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Mirza Hrustemović's protégés finished the first of three preparation cycles in Međugorje at the end of July. They will continue from August 12 to 18, and the third cycle will be from August 26 to September 2. The BiH delegation travels to Rio on September 4, 2016.

This is the fifth time our national team of BiH is participating in the Paralympic Games (Sydney 2000 silver medal, Athens 2004 gold medal, Beijing 2008 silver medal, London 2012 gold medal).

Besides BiH, seven other teams are participating: Russia, Iran, China, with whom we are in the same group, and Brazil, Germany, USA, and Egypt.

The sitting volleyball team is our most decorated sports collective, nine-time European champions, three-time world champions. In Brazil, they will give their all to bring home gold from the Paralympic Games for the third time.

Besides athletics and sitting volleyball, people with disabilities can also compete in wheelchair basketball, table tennis, swimming, shooting, while badminton is a new discipline.
