"BH Pošta" Invested 50,000 KM in Furnishing a Staff Apartment

Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Enver Bijedić requested the Supervisory Board of "BH Pošta" to investigate the investment by the company's management in adapting an apartment in the very center of Sarajevo, due to possible abuses, the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) has learned.

At the beginning of the year, Bijedić received an anonymous complaint, which was also sent to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), among others, accusing the director of "BH Pošta" Mujo Butković of investing around 100,000 marks in the renovation of an apartment owned by the state company in Maka Dizdara street in Sarajevo.

However, according to the documentation obtained by the NAP agency, Butković explained in his response to Bijedić that 50,000 KM was invested in the renovation of the apartment, not 100,000 KM as stated in the anonymous report.

The director of "BH Pošta" confirmed that a decision was made to adapt a company apartment which would be used, as stated in the response to Bijedić, "for the occasional or temporary accommodation of employees who need it." Butković explained that the apartment was previously owned by the company, and that other state companies also have a practice of staff apartments.

As explained, exactly 47,127 KM was ultimately invested in the apartment, and everything was done in accordance with the law and tender procedures.

Minister Bijedić himself also stated in the letter that he had analyzed the submitted material and that he believes the decision was made in accordance with the management's authorizations.
