
The Anti-Doping Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has found benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of the prohibited substance cocaine, classified in the group "S6. Stimulants" as an atypical stimulant, in the sample of basketball player Dino Hodžić, a former player of BC "Spars", the Agency announced, as reported by the Patria news agency.
This constitutes a violation of Article 2.1 of the World Anti-Doping Code (Presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolites or markers in an athlete's sample).
The sample for analysis was collected on 13.02.2016 in Sarajevo at a basketball match between BC "Spars" and BC "Varda HE". The basketball player was informed of his right to a "B" sample analysis, which he waived in writing.
The Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is responsible for conducting proceedings and imposing measures for violations of anti-doping rules under the World Anti-Doping Code, has been notified of this violation.
