Public Institution "Center for Sport and Recreation" in cooperation with the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, for this school year as well, has provided a free basketball school for boys and girls from the fifth to the ninth grade from all 11 elementary schools in the Centar municipality, reports the Patria News Agency.
Basketball, as a sports discipline in the physical and health education program of elementary schools, holds a significant place, abounding in natural forms of movement such as running, throwing, catching, jumping...
The goal of the project is to influence the development of a competitive spirit, as well as strengthening the will, persistence, and determination in children through various contents and elements of the basketball game.
The basketball school started on October 12, 2015, and will last until the end of May 2016. Training sessions are held in the gymnasium of Sarajevo's FIS (Mis Irbina 10), twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays from 3 PM to 4 PM, under the professional guidance of physical and health education teachers.
Interested elementary school students from Centar can register for the free basketball school by coming to training at the specified times or by calling the Public Institution "Center for Sport and Recreation" Sarajevo at 033/268-760.
The Municipality of Centar Sarajevo has allocated 5,000 marks from its budget for this purpose, it was announced from the Municipality of Centar.
