Begović: After routine win in Andorra, time for Austria

After a routine win in Andorra, the first in the European Championship qualifiers, the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team arrived in Vienna, where on Tuesday they will face the Austrian national team in a friendly match, according to the official website of the Dragons' goalkeeper Asmir Begović, as reported by the Patria news agency.

The visit to the small country in the Pyrenees was an opportunity for the new coach to make his debut on the Bosnia and Herzegovina bench. Mehmed Baždarević took over the coaching position from Safet Sušić and will try to catch up with the group leaders by the end of the qualifiers and secure a place at the European Championship. He opened his tenure with an expected triumph against the amateurs from Andorra. Edin Džeko scored three times, all three times assisted by Senad Lulić.

-It was a good day for us. It's difficult to play such matches, the opponent closes down, sets up very deep, and sometimes it takes time to break their resistance. After the first goal, everything became easier. What's most important is that we earned three important points and regained our confidence, said Asmir after the match.

The next stop is Vienna, where hundreds of fans greeted our national team players at the airport and in front of the hotel. More than 10,000 Bosnians and Herzegovinians are expected in the stands of the legendary Ernst Happel Stadium on Tuesday.

-As always, the support we have is enormous. It's great to have such fans, and I must admit we are all delighted to be here in Vienna, where many of our people live. The match itself is important for us, even though it is a friendly. First of all, Austria is a strong team, and it's always good to have such a test. On the other hand, it's important for us to play well, to show that we are back on the winning track and to enter the final part of the qualifiers with much more confidence, wrote Begović.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team will play against Austria on Tuesday at 8:30 PM local time.
