Begić: Trojka concedes to everyone and then calls it compromise

(Patria) - Professor of Constitutional Law and MP in the BiH Parliament Zlatan Begić (DF) was a guest on last night's episode of Hayat Television's '7Plus' show.

He spoke about current political developments and challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the beginning, he immediately emphasized that democracy won in the 2022 elections.

- People went to the polls and decided they didn't want disruptors, they didn't want people who cause unrest, which means that the government could have been formed without Dodik and without Čović.

I have no doubt that democracy will win again and that people will vote correctly next time, but the question is whether those they vote for will implement their will or whether they will make the cardinal mistakes they made last time - emphasizes Begić.

He stresses that what is happening with the state budget for 2025 is terrible.

- According to our laws, the budget for the next year is adopted in December every year, and unfortunately, this has been happening for years.

Of course, this affects state institutions, employee salaries, so today the salaries of police officers, soldiers, and civil servants are meager, and they could be increased by up to 100% because there are funds for it.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a very rich country when it can pay 100 million KM to some Viaduct, for which it is not even certain that it exists.

It can also pay 100 million for the purchase of a godson's building. On the other hand, we have a brain drain from state institutions.

It is obvious that someone thinks that by stifling the state through the non-adoption of the state budget, they can stifle the state itself. In addition, you have a parliamentary majority and a coalition that does not pay attention to this.

This leads us to the need for a new parliamentary practice - if there is no budget in December, the Council of Ministers automatically resigns - states Begić.

He then explained his statement that caused great attention, in which he publicly wondered if the Deputy Minister of Finance Muhamed Hasanović had been kidnapped, who made two diametrically opposed statements within seven days.

- You see, I carefully observed Mr. Hasanović for seven days. First, he stated that it was the best budget ever adopted or proposed anywhere and that this budget, to paraphrase him - would open our European path.

After that, he stated that this budget is worthless and unimplementable. I noticed that they were stunned, and at first, I kept quiet, but then I had to wonder if it was the same person.

In fact, I think the Trojka parties are conceding to everyone and then calling it compromise, conceding to the position from the RS, then to the opposition from the RS, to the HDZ - of course - especially.

Therefore, the Trojka parties cannot secure support on very principled matters, and then it happens that they reject the budget. That conclusion to return the budget to the Presidency was the rejection of the state budget.

It is still unclear to me how someone can say one thing tonight and another tomorrow. And not just anyone, but a person who is the deputy state minister of finance.

Responsibility for what is said must finally be shown, instead of a new truth coming out every day according to the party leader's instructions.

I think they picked that up from Mr. Konaković, who ended up blaming artificial intelligence for all his numerous conflicting statements.

He is a man who has two or three statements in one day that cancel each other out. You know, by bringing clowns to court - partly the people and partly the West - it doesn't mean we will turn clowns into statesmen and leaders, but it means we will turn that court into a circus.

And now we have a circus in which it is completely normal for holders of the highest positions to come out and lie publicly. Everything. Both the people and all professors, workers, police officers, firefighters, and everyone else, and then tomorrow they come out and say - no, I didn't say that, it was artificial intelligence - adds Begić.
