Bećirović's Cabinet: Attack on OHR is Part of a Broader Attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement

(Patria) - The Cabinet of BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović issued a statement today stating that the attack on the Office of the High Representative (OHR) is part of a broader attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement.

"Given that the Cabinet of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović requested information on the number of security personnel for the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, and the weapons they carry, as well as claims that it sent a letter to BiH Security Minister Nenad Nešić, we wish to point out important facts.

The letter from the Cabinet of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović to BiH Security Minister Nenad Nešić was submitted without discussion and consent from the BiH Presidency.

The High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina is legal, and no activities of anti-Dayton oriented politicians can call into question his legality and the fundamental provisions of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

It is clear that this is a continuation of anti-Dayton activities and the undermining of the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the highest political representatives from the BiH entity of the RS.

It is important to emphasize that the actions of the authorities of the BiH entity of the RS against the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, are not of a personal nature.

The attack on the OHR and the Constitutional Court of BiH are targeted attacks on institutions that safeguard the fundamental provisions of the BiH Constitution.

Such actions represent a direct attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Therefore, the international community, and especially the witnesses of the Dayton Peace Agreement, must urgently take concrete action and stop the dangerous anti-Dayton activities, which seriously undermine peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region," stated Bećirović's Cabinet.
