Bećirović with 40 heads of state or government at the European Political Community summit

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović is participating in the European Political Community (EPC) summit, which began in Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

41 heads of state or government from across Europe, as well as representatives of NATO, the EU, the Council of Europe, and the OSCE are participating in the summit at Blenheim Palace, organized by the UK.

The EPC summit is being held with the aim of improving cooperation between European countries on important issues affecting the continent as a whole, including topics from security and support for Ukraine to addressing the challenges of migration, protecting democracy, and promoting energy security. The EPC summit is the fourth of its kind, and the first organized by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Among other things, participants will discuss disinformation and information manipulation, as well as interference in the internal affairs of sovereign European states by foreign actors and their proxies, as one of the most acute threats directed at European democracies.

Therefore, it is important for European countries and multinational organizations such as the EU, the Council of Europe, NATO, and the OSCE to establish legislative frameworks, including for the regulation of digital and social media platforms and for strengthening civil society organizations.
