Bećirović spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan

(Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, as well as the continuation of cooperation between the two countries.

Bećirović thanked the Republic of Turkey for its continuous and principled support for Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that the Republic of Turkey is one of the most important international partners and friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He noted that relations between the two countries are characterized by a high degree of mutual trust, intensive political dialogue, strong economic ties, and successful cooperation in numerous areas of common interest.

Bećirović recalled the role of the international community in implementing the Dayton Peace Agreement and stressed that it is of utmost importance for the new High Representative to continue consistently and impartially executing the mandate established by the Dayton Peace Agreement.

The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina also emphasized that the issue of state property must be resolved in accordance with national and international law and the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He stressed that respect for the final and binding decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the foundation of the rule of law and one of the key conditions for preserving legal certainty and institutional stability of the state.

The conversation particularly highlighted the importance of accelerating reforms on Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic path. Bećirović emphasized that NATO membership is very important for long-term peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Southeast Europe. In this regard, it is necessary to intensify activities that will enable the strengthening of democratic institutions, the rule of law, security, and the economic development of the country.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, confirmed the continuous support of the Republic of Turkey for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressing commitment to further improving bilateral cooperation and strengthening political, economic, and cultural ties between the two friendly countries.
