During an open and substantive multi-hour dialogue, he answered numerous questions from those present about current political, economic and social processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as about the state's foreign policy priorities.

Bećirović emphasized that the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora is one of the most important resources of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that strong ties between the homeland and our people around the world represent an important factor in the country's development. He pointed out that preserving identity, language and culture, along with continuous cooperation with the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, contributes to strengthening the overall social and economic potential of the country.

During the conversation, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH particularly welcomed the engagement of the Institute for Genocide Research Canada, led by Dr. Emir Ramić. He said that this Institute has for years made an exceptional contribution to preserving the truth about the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the genocide against Bosniaks, through scientific research, educational activities and cooperation with numerous international institutions.

He emphasized that these activities are significant in the fight against genocide denial, historical revisionism and all forms of discrimination, as well as for strengthening the culture of remembrance.

Bećirović pointed out that the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora has an invaluable potential, and that the community in Canada in particular makes an important contribution to promoting political, cultural and economic ties between the two friendly countries, as well as to promoting a positive image of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Canada.

The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina should strengthen ties with its citizens around the world, especially through education, science, culture, tradition, sports, as well as through all significant business investments coming from the diaspora. Investments from the diaspora, as well as the transfer of knowledge and experience, are of great importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that numerous successful entrepreneurs of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin can play an important role in creating new jobs, transferring knowledge and strengthening the international competitiveness of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economy.

He added that the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina should continue working on creating a better business environment and strengthening cooperation with the diaspora. In this regard, it was pointed out that the formation of the Global Network of BiH Diaspora within the Cabinet of Bećirović is an important step forward in connecting the diaspora and the homeland.

The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH highlighted the importance of the continuous engagement of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in promoting the truth about Bosnia and Herzegovina, preserving the Bosnian-Herzegovinian identity, and contributing to the development of the local communities from which they originate. He also pointed out the importance of joint action in promoting democratic values, human rights, mutual respect and the multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina living abroad, through their work, successes and reputation, represent the best example of the values that Bosnian-Herzegovinian society cherishes.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to the role of young people of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin living and working in Canada. It was pointed out that the younger generations represent an important potential for further strengthening ties between the two countries, and that it is necessary to create additional programs that will enable their more active connection with the homeland through educational, cultural, scientific and sports activities. Possibilities for improving economic cooperation were also discussed, given the significant number of successful entrepreneurs and experts of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin living in Canada.

It was noted that the diaspora can play an important role in attracting investments, creating new business opportunities and promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as a desirable investment destination.

Representatives of the diaspora expressed interest in intensifying cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina and confirmed their readiness to continue contributing to the development of the homeland with their knowledge, experience and investments. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and a shared commitment to strengthening ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and its diaspora in Canada.
