
(Patria) - The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, will travel to New York again at the beginning of next week to continue intensive activities aimed at adopting the resolution on the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
Bećirović's new visit to the UN headquarters comes just a few days after he addressed the UN Security Council session regarding the High Representative's Report on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Chairman of the BiH Presidency held a series of meetings with ambassadors of numerous countries in New York in the previous days, and will have a new series of meetings with ambassadors next week.
This is already the third visit of Chairman Bećirović to the United Nations headquarters within a month, as part of advocating for the adoption of the Resolution on the Srebrenica Genocide. He also spoke with leaders of numerous influential countries in both the West and the East in previous weeks.
Bećirović held a meeting with the President of the UN General Assembly, Dennis Francis, which is the second joint meeting in less than a month. Before that, in mid-last month, he also spoke with UN Secretary-General António Guterres in New York.
The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, will attend the United Nations General Assembly session where a vote will be held on the resolution declaring July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995.
