Bećirović paid tribute to Nijaz Duraković on the 13th anniversary of his death

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović laid flowers in the harem of Ali Pasha's mosque in Sarajevo, paying due tribute to Nijaz Duraković, one of the most prominent political leaders and intellectuals of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović recalled that Nijaz Duraković, as a member of the War Presidency of
Bosnia and Herzegovina, was ready to take on the heavy burden of responsibility for the homeland, its defense, and the fight for freedom in the most difficult times. He was the president of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, a professor at the University of Sarajevo, an author, and a thinker, and his political and intellectual legacy remains an indelible part of our country's history, Bećirović emphasized.

- Thirteen years after Nijaz Duraković's death, his ideas of building a free, independent, sovereign, and integral Bosnia and Herzegovina and its democratic society are still a guide for generations of patriots.

Duraković's dedication to Bosnia and Herzegovina was unconditional, and his values should remain the foundation for the further development of our society, Bećirović concluded.
