(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović expressed condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Merz on the occasion of the death of former High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Christian Schwarz-Schilling.
"I received the news of the death of former High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Christian Schwarz-Schilling with deep regret.
During his mandate and engagement, Dr. Schwarz-Schilling showed genuine commitment to the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the strengthening of its institutions. He particularly demonstrated dedication to advocating for peace, stability, and
the building of a democratic society.
Dr. Schwarz-Schilling will be remembered as a friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His principled resignation in 1992, in protest of the international community's passivity towards the suffering during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, testifies to rare political consistency and a deep sense of human responsibility.
Our thoughts are with the family of Dr. Christian Schwarz-Schilling. Please accept my deepest respects."
