Bećirović: A well-organized diaspora plays an important role in strengthening BiH

(Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović spoke with representatives of the World Alliance of Bosnia and Herzegovina Diaspora (SSD BiH) as part of activities aimed at connecting the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora with the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was attended by the President of SSD BiH Hasan Šehović, Vice-President of SSD BiH Haris Halilović, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SSD BiH (Sweden) Meho Kapo, Youth Representative of SSD BiH Amir Grabić, Member of the Main Board of SSD BiH (Turkey) Ismet Çalışkan, Member of the Main Board and Representative of Women of SSD BiH (Denmark) Željka Šećerbegović.

Representatives of the World Alliance of Bosnia and Herzegovina Diaspora thanked the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović for his great support to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora, as well as for his activities aimed at connecting the homeland and the diaspora.

Discussions were held on the activities and goals of the XII Congress of the World Alliance of Bosnia and Herzegovina Diaspora, which is being held in Sarajevo from July 4-7, 2024, under the high patronage of the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović.

The interlocutors pointed out the importance of holding the Congress, which brought together about 150 delegates from more than 20 countries where the organized diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina lives and works.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora plays a significant role in promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina and protecting its interests abroad.

Bećirović emphasized that a well-organized diaspora is of exceptional importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is why institutional connection and joint work on projects of interest to our country are important. He said that the continuous networking of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora and stronger connection with the homeland will contribute to the positive development of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In mid-December 2023, the Global Network of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Diaspora was officially launched within the Cabinet of Bećirović, with the aim of better connecting citizens in the diaspora with their homeland. The members of this network have already made a significant contribution to the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world in various ways, Bećirović stated in his conversation with the representatives of the World Alliance of Bosnia and Herzegovina Diaspora.
