Bečarević responded to Srđan Mandić: Your friends and family are in KJKP Rad

(Patria) - Minister of Communal Economy Almir Bečarević issued a public statement after the Mayor of Centar Municipality, Srđan Mandić, 'called him out' in his address on social networks.

"After Srđan Mandić's repeated statements on social networks with the repeated mantra that he is, and I quote: 'especially the incompetent Minister Bečarević, who has issued 6 press releases in the past 6 months. And that's all.', all in relation to a burst water pipe in the Centar Municipality, I am obliged to inform the public about Srđan Mandić's 'competence' and the blood ties that adorn him. I am particularly motivated by the words Mandić published on the same social networks, I quote: 'And he will no longer hide anyone's idleness. And this is not a story about coalitions, nor about politics.'

First of all, I want to emphasize that I completely agree with Mr. Mandić regarding the qualifications given for the water supply, but likewise, just as he could do nothing about the water supply, neither can I as the responsible minister. The government does not rule directors, but political parties, and the fact that this ministry was not even informed about the pipe burst is sufficient proof of that," the statement reads.

Bečarević continued and presented two stories that have nothing to do with coalitions or politics.

"Srđan Mandić has a friend Reuf Sulejmanović. Sulejmanović is the President of the Supervisory Board of KJKP Rad thanks to Mandić - friends. Reuf Sulejmanović has a relative Alen Girt. Alen Girt works for a company that, among other things, creates websites. Srđan Mandić is related to the director of KJKP Rad d.o.o., and friendly with Sulejmanović. Reuf Sulejmanović extends the acting director's mandate multiple times, contrary to the Law on Ministerial, Government, and Other Appointments in FBiH. Vera is 66 years old and does not want to be sent into a well-deserved retirement. Alen Girt, i.e., the company he is employed by, is creating the website for the Centar Municipality, Mayor Mandić, for KM 70,000.
Alen Girt, i.e., the company he is employed by, is creating the website for KJKP Rad, where the director is related to Mandić, and Reuf, the president of the Supervisory Board of KJKP Rad d.o.o., is related to Girt by kinship, for KM 22,000.

Reuf Sulejmanović, for the sake of protecting his integrity, I will not describe what happened with him a few days ago.
Let the public judge whether the above-mentioned contracted jobs are worth KM 92,000 for the creation of two websites. In my opinion, they are not worth even KM 5,000.

As can be seen, this blood-kinship-kinship connection benefits from what is called 'FINA GRADSKA RAJA' (a slang term for a group of well-connected people in the city).

As a minister, I am incompetent, and these people are competent for the benefits described in the example above.

Moving on:

Canton Sarajevo, the KS government, took out a loan to purchase machinery for the company RAD. The loan was taken out in 2019 from the Development Bank for KM 1,000,000. To avoid public procurement in the purchase of machinery, the funds were transferred to UNDP. Two years ago, fuel disappeared from KJKP Rad d.o.o., and the company was looking for ways to obtain fuel. The saving idea was for UNDP to buy fuel for the RAD company instead of machinery, worth KM 700,000. Thus, the dedicated funds provided through the loan for the purchase of machinery were spent on the purchase of diesel fuel. There was no consent from the Development Bank or the Ministry of Finance of KS for this. KJKP Rad received free fuel, not machinery. RAD never repaid the money to UNDP or the Development Bank.

The Canton pays interest for years, the machines were not purchased, the funds were spent for unintended purposes, and RAD received fuel for which there are no invoices because UNDP paid for the fuel.

Why these two stories?

When Srđan Mandić calls out Minister Bečarević, he does so in an inappropriate manner. When Mandić calls someone incompetent, he never documents it but tries to humiliate. I could accept humiliation if it were about a moral vertical. In these stories, we have a vertical that is anything but moral.

I am finished with these two stories, but there are many more, and therefore here is a message to Srđan: 'Stop, Srđo, and do not hide your idleness with fabricated things because reality is brutal for you and your environment.'

As a minister, I strive to work responsibly and do not allow slander that aims only to divert attention from the real reasons and events in the Centar Municipality," stated Bečarević.

This same statement was also sent to the Office for Combating Corruption and Quality Management of KS.
