Baždarević: We are all with Spahić, and it is important that he continues to train

The news that Emir Spahić is without a club resonated like a bomb in BiH, and the coach Mehmed Baždarević also received it with great regret, writes the Patria news agency.

However, as Baždarević told the Patria news agency in an interview, the entire team and the Football Association will be with Spahić and will try to help him in these most difficult moments.

- I am sorry to hear that, but it could have been expected. I spoke with Emir five times after the unfortunate scenes, and he is aware of what he did, but it was stronger than him. He acted humanely, and I somehow understand it. It is up to us now to help him, to find a club where he will train so as not to lose his strength - said Baždarević.

Spahić had his contract terminated after Bayer Leverkusen conducted a full investigation into the incident at the stadium in which Spahić and his family were involved. The rules are such that he cannot find a club until the transfer window opens.

- I am aware of that and I know that he cannot go anywhere now, but he can certainly find a club where he will train so that he is ready for national team duties. We will not turn our backs on him, because he did not deserve it. This, of course, spoils our plans that we have set, but what can you do - added Baždarević.

After the club's decision, Spahić also commented, saying that it was his "great honor to be a part of this team".

- To my friends from the team and the entire club, as well as the fans of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, I sincerely wish all the best in the bright future that lies ahead of them - Spahić conveyed.
