Baždarević: Miličević has earned the right to play for our national team

The coach of the BiH A national team, Mehmed Baždarević, held a press conference today at the "Europe" hotel in Sarajevo, where he spoke about the national team's recent results and plans for the upcoming period.

- In the last five friendly matches, we achieved four victories. If we exclude the first 25 minutes of the match against Spain, in which we were not at our level, we can be satisfied with the rest. The players showed character and even when they were trailing, they didn't give up, and I hope they will play with such an attitude in the future – says Baždarević.

Regarding participation in the Kirin Cup, the coach said:

We were criticized a lot before leaving for Japan, but we didn't pay too much attention to it. Together with the professional staff, I made the decision on which players would play in the Kirin Cup. We had problems before departure because some players got injured. I am glad that we won the trophy and it was nice to see players from our league playing at that level – emphasizes Baždarević.

Representatives of the media were also interested in whether there would be a place for the players from the Kirin Cup in the "A" team in the upcoming qualifiers.

- We have enough time until the match with Estonia. It is certain that the players earned points in the tournament in Japan and are knocking on the national team's door. It is important that we have options. In case of injuries or suspensions due to cards, it is important that we have a wide selection of players. The guys from our league have shown that they can play at a high level, and it is up to us to choose the best – added the coach.

Mehmed Baždarević also spoke about plans and said that he wants to gather players from the domestic league once again and continue to monitor their development and progress.

- We have already watched many matches, scouted potential national team players, as well as our opponents in the qualifiers, whom we will meet prepared – added the coach.

Finally, the coach revealed that the Belgian club Gent player, Danijel Miličević, has earned the right to play for our national team.
