Baždarević: We controlled the match, and with fighting spirit, we managed to achieve an important victory

After the BiH national team's victory over Switzerland, coach Mehmed Baždarević was satisfied with his players' performance, as he told reporters at a press conference, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

- We defeated a very good national team. We controlled the match, although the opponent also had periods that were very good and interesting. With our fighting spirit and responsible play, we managed to match them and achieve an important victory. We opted for a game without calculations, we gave everyone a chance, and the result came - said Meša.

Baždarević also referred to the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and said that his goal is to build a team of 25 players he can count on. The qualifiers begin in September.

The players who had the opportunity to play in the match against the Swiss did not hide their satisfaction with the achieved victory. Captain Edin Džeko said that this gathering was useful for the Dragons.

- We played excellently, especially in the first half. In the second half, the Swiss had better possession of the ball, but we did not allow them to threaten us seriously. I am glad that the coach gave new players a chance and I congratulate them on their debut - said the captain.
