Baždarević arrives from France accompanied by a lawyer, Barbarez assistant coach?

Mehmed Baždarević, the new head coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team, is currently in France and should start his journey to our country tomorrow, reports the Patria news agency.

The popular Meša is expected to travel by plane this time, but due to the Christmas holidays, it is almost impossible to get plane tickets, so it is not excluded that he might travel by car, accompanied by his lawyer who will attend the signing of the contract.

There is also speculation in the public about the names of the new coach's assistants, which Baždarević has not discussed so far. As Patria learns, it is not excluded that Baždarević, in accordance with the regulations in our country, may choose assistants from among the remaining candidates he defeated for the coaching position.

After Mehmed Baždarević was appointed head coach of the BiH national football team, the BiH Football Association is already working on a draft contract for the popular Meša, as well as possible candidates for assistant coaches, which, as they confirmed to us, will be chosen in agreement with the successor of Safet Sušić.

The name of Sergej Barbarez has already been mentioned in the public as one of the assistants, and Patria learns that this is becoming more likely, although Sergej himself has not stated whether he would do that job.

According to information, one of the candidates for the coaching position will most likely be appointed as an assistant. In the race for the coaching position, besides Baždarević, were Milovan Rajevac, Faruk Hadžibegić, Blaž Slišković, Sergej Barbarez, and Amar Osim.

Given that the Football Association must also respect the national key, it seems most likely that Baždarević's first assistant will be Barbarez.
