The BiH national football team plays its last match in the qualifiers for the World Cup in Russia next year tonight in Tallinn against Estonia, writes Patria News Agency.
With the loss to Belgium at Grbavica, our national team has already said goodbye to the fight for qualification for the World Cup, so tonight's match against Estonia is a friendly and a good opportunity to conclude the qualifiers with a victory.
The match against Estonia is most likely the last match on the bench for coach Mehmed Baždarević, and Vedad Ibišević is also saying goodbye to the national team.
Ibišević is 34 years old and said a few days ago that it is time for younger players to come, and that he will retire from the national jersey.
According to the current contract between the Association and Baždarević, Meša is the coach until the end of the World Cup in Russia or until the last match in the qualifiers if we fail to qualify for Russia.
Given that we did not qualify, this practically means that Mehmed Baždarević will be out of a job at the end of the match against Estonia.
A session of the Executive Board of the N/FS BiH will be held on October 19 or 20, and it will then be known whether the Association will offer a new contract to Baždarević or if they will start looking for a new coach.
