Bašić resigns as coach of Plavi on the eve of Sunday's derby

(Patria) - FK Željezničar coach Nermin Bašić offered his resignation after the match against Široki Brijeg.

Željezničar broke their negative streak of results tonight at Grbavica. Plavi celebrated a 2:1 victory with a goal from Krpić in the final seconds of the match against Široki Brijeg.

Nermin Bašić did not hide his satisfaction with the victory, and then shocked everyone by offering his resignation as coach.

"A deserved victory, it came a bit late. We created several chances and in the end, thank God, we broke the losing streak. In the end, five players under 21 years of age played, I congratulate those guys for giving their all."

"The key was switching to 3-5-2 and we went all or nothing. We overcame a quality opponent. I congratulate the guys, we went through hell in the past month," said Bašić and added:

"I didn't want to leave after Sloboda, but now I am putting my position at your disposal regardless of this victory. I consider myself responsible, my head is hot. I am putting my position at your disposal, that's it".

"This victory changes nothing. I didn't want to leave the guys in the lurch, I consider myself responsible for five defeats. I wanted to do it after Sloboda too, but it wasn't the right moment because it's hard to find a coach in three days. Thank you for your cooperation".
