(Patria) - The EU forces in BiH (EUFOR) provided the media with the speech of their commander, Major General Florin Marian Barbu, delivered today at the Butmir base in Sarajevo, where he addressed the newly arrived EUFOR reserve forces.

"Distinguished Ambassador Soreca, Brigadier General Valas, Ambassadors of the Czech Republic, Italy and Romania, brothers and sisters in arms,

First of all – welcome to Butmir base. It is an honor to have you here with us.

With your arrival, EUFOR has already reinforced its presence. In the coming days, we will complete the full reinforcement of forces, and I wish to thank you, on behalf of the Operational Commander, for the swift response.

The activation of reserve forces represents a proactive measure aimed at assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the interest of all its citizens.

EUFOR remains directly committed to its mandate of supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in maintaining security and stability.

The structure of our forces has been carefully adjusted to the changing needs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, preserving the delicate balance that has been successfully maintained for years.

The history of the EUFOR mission clearly illustrates how we have contributed to maintaining peace and fostering stability within the framework of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

We remain focused on ensuring that this hard-won stability is maintained and that we continue to provide a safe and secure environment for all of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
