Barbarez: We are enjoying these moments, we are glad that the fans have recognised our work

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team has completed its final training session before departing for the World Cup.

After the training, selector Sergej Barbarez addressed the media.

"The basic idea was to be in our country, to play a match, to hold a public training session and to offer people a bit of closeness. To show that we are also normal, ordinary people. Although the hype has become really big for these guys, everything is okay. I am enjoying these moments. We are glad that the fans have recognised us, our work, and that they support us," said Barbarez.

Regarding the injury of Haris Tabaković, the selector emphasises that he is working on his recovery.

"The plan is for him to be ready in about a month, between the second and third matches, so we will see how the situation develops."

On June 6, the Dragons face a preparatory match against Panama, which will be an opportunity to further gel as a team.

"The most important thing for us is to get used to the time difference and high temperatures as quickly as possible, because that will be one of the bigger challenges. We are playing in conditions when it is very hot, but the guys are ready. In that last match, we will not experiment much; we want to play seriously, gain confidence, and have the players show what they know."

The message to the fans is to continue supporting the Dragons.

"All of that will reach us and America. We will try to make them happy and give our best as we have so far. People recognise when someone works sincerely and gives one hundred percent, and the result comes in the end," said Barbarez.

He also spoke about the rest of the medical bulletin, given that Edin Džeko trained separately from the rest of the team today, while Ivan Šunjić and Osman Hadžikić were in the stands.

"Šunjić has a control scan today, the plan is for him to be ready. Džeko will 'jump into' training in America. Hadžikić got injured, he will not travel with us. Jurkas has been called up as a standard U-21 national team player. We decided that yesterday with our goalkeeping coaches," Barbarez stated.
