(Patria) - Several dozen citizens of Banja Luka gathered tonight at the Građiš playground in the city center to express solidarity with the citizens of Sarajevo. They then moved to Krajina Square.
The gathering was organized in solidarity with the protests that have been ongoing for days in Sarajevo following the tragic tram accident in which Erdoan Morankić (23) from Brčko died, while minor Ella Jovanović (17) was seriously injured.
Residents of Banja Luka say that the gathering in their city is a sign of support for the justified demands of the demonstrators in Sarajevo, with a clear message that solidarity with civil protests and the fight for accountability knows neither city nor entity borders.
The protests in Sarajevo began the day after the accident that occurred on February 12 near the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Marijin Dvor, when a tram derailed. New protests are scheduled for Saturday, February 21.
