Bandić: European Commission Report Only Exposed All Deceptions and Lies of the Trio

Yesterday's publication of the European Commission's Report on Bosnia and Herzegovina has completely unmasked the incompetence and dysfunctionality of the ruling coalition, and clearly shown that nothing constructive can be achieved by constantly appeasing anti-state agents and policies.

Moreover, the situation in which we received candidate status as a gift has not only failed to soften anti-state policies but has given them additional wind in their sails, while simultaneously unmasking all the deceptions, lies, political naivety, and incompetence of the Bosniak ikebanas installed in power to achieve the aggressive foreign policy goals of the Republic of Croatia, reduced to simply fulfilling the wishes of one man, Dragan Čović.

All the positive remarks in the Report begin and end with the creation of a false image of the "fastest government establishment" and "publicly expressed commitment of political parties to the strategic goal of European integration." However, as soon as we delve deeper into the Report itself, we will not find any point indicating that anything has moved forward. For almost every law or document adopted since gaining candidate status, we find it questionable whether it is aligned with European standards.

It is even explicitly stated that the FBiH Government was appointed after the High Representative suspended the FBiH Constitution. Is there any legal accountability for all those who supported such a flagrant violation of the Constitution, despite taking an oath to respect and defend it? I wonder, as a human being, are they even ashamed? Sigmund Freud once said that the first sign of human stupidity is the absence of shame.

It is known that this was the primary reason why the Party for BiH did not support the Government established in this manner and left the coalition at the federal level. For us then, and equally today, legal violence is an unacceptable form of political action, even when offered several ministries and strong public enterprises.

We believe that the peace and stability of any society rest on respecting the legal order and legal certainty, and it was clear to us then that such legal violence would bring nothing good, which is also confirmed by the European Commission's stance not to open negotiations with our country. It is a complete debacle that we have been left on the sidelines, watching Ukraine and Moldova, countries in a de facto state of war, from behind.

The political reactions to the Report itself are just a hilarious circus, characteristic of a society as devastated as ours. While some scream with joy, having received nothing, the smartest, most honest, and most capable are engaged in the wilderness of semantic realities, as if it even matters whether it says "we recommend" or "we will recommend," when we did not receive the recommendation to open negotiations.

Incompetent people are generally prone to focusing on completely irrelevant details when they fail to achieve their set goals. This is the peculiar art of selling fog that we witness daily in Sarajevo Canton, where the irrelevant is pushed to the forefront to hide all the important things: incompetence and corruption.

In any case, Bosnia and Herzegovina has been left to wait for spring, and it remains for us to observe how much humility and servility towards anti-state agents and policies will ultimately cost our society and state, because Dragan Čović is becoming visibly impatient. It is already autumn, and there is no Election Law.

The adoption of various documents with sonorous titles but without any concrete content or intention to ever implement them in practice is not the European path, nor what the European Commission expects from Bosnia and Herzegovina. What the European Commission expects is a strong and functional state that speaks with one voice, a state that guarantees the legal order and legal certainty of its citizens. Europe therefore wants a credible partner, and this group of thugs and subordinates of retrograde policies is not, nor will they ever be, regardless of all the sweet talk, deceptions, and lies.
