(Patria) - A reception for the coach of the BiH national football team, Sergej Barbarez, a native of Mostar, was held on the plateau below the Old Bridge in Mostar tonight.
There was also a fireworks display on the Old Bridge, and an honour jump from the bridge was performed.
As the official announcer stated, Barbarez carried the crest of Bosnia and Herzegovina next to his heart with immense pride and the greatest responsibility, without calculations or reservations.
Barbarez was welcomed by more than 2,000 people from Mostar, and the chant "Sergej, Sergej, Sergej Barbarez" echoed through the Neretva valley when he appeared on stage. He said he is a proud Mostar resident and that love is returned to him.
"Because of things like this, I had to learn to have self-confidence and know what I'm talking about. I hope I won't disappoint you. This is proof of why success is important if we work honestly. This is the only motto of my life and sport in general. We had that faith in success because we saw how we can and what we can do. I have said enough times that only from defeat can you become great. This is certainly a good lesson for us. We see how we love success and how we love to celebrate. The pictures of celebrations in Sarajevo and Mostar the night after the match show this. We can lose a match, but we will not lose our pride in the national crest. It is a great honour to stand before you, and I hope it is not the last time. Thank you very much," said Barbarez, among other things.
He said that he too dreams of a couch and resting.
"That is my only real rest, with the remote in my hand under the Mostar sun, for sure. We will definitely see each other in Mostar in the coming days."

At the reception were celebrated footballers Meho Kodro, Džemal Hadžiabdić, Ibro Rahimić, Admir Vladavić, and the head of FK Velež, Admir Rahimić, as well as numerous other friends of Sergej and citizens of Mostar.
