(Patria) - While following the performance of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team at the World Cup from Los Angeles, journalist and sports commentator Sabahudin Topalbećirević Baho has a special reason to celebrate today.
He is celebrating his birthday thousands of kilometres away from Sarajevo, in the city that will host an important duel between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland tonight. Although he receives numerous congratulations from friends, colleagues and admirers throughout the day, Baho admits that he still expects the biggest gift from the Dragons.
In an emotional post on social media, he thanked everyone who remembered him on his day, saying that as one grows older, one realises that the most important things are not gifts, but the people who sincerely offer a kind word. At the same time, he expressed his wish that tonight's match be a reason for another celebration and that the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team delight fans around the world.
"Today is my birthday in Los Angeles.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the congratulations, messages and kind words. Over the years, a person realises that gifts are not important, but the people who remember you, and thank God there are many of us.
And the most beautiful gift today I expect from our national team.
Bosnia and Herzegovina against Switzerland, on my birthday, far from Sarajevo, but with my heart completely with our country.
May the boys leave their hearts on the pitch, may they delight us and may this day be one to remember.
Let's go Bosnia and Herzegovina…
It's my birthday, but let the gift be for all of us" - Baho's post reads.
