Asylum seekers can no longer go to Germany, BiH is a safe country

In Germany, on November 6, 2014, the "Law on the inclusion of other states as safe countries of origin and for easier access to the labor market for asylum seekers and foreigners with limited residence" came into force. Therefore, among other things, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be included in the category of a "safe country of origin" regarding the right to asylum, since there is no threat of state persecution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the German Embassy in BiH, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- So that in the future, asylum applications from citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be rejected as „manifestly unfounded“. This will significantly speed up the processing of asylum applications. The assumption that the application is „manifestly unfounded“ can be refuted by the applicant in individual cases if they prove that state persecution threatens them in their case - it was announced.

At the same time, the new law brings with it relief for asylum seekers and foreigners with limited residence (Duldung) in Germany. In the future, they will generally be allowed to work after three months, whereas previously it was only after nine months.
