The friendly match between the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria was also marked by the 63rd minute of the match when a verbal altercation occurred between BiH representative Edin Džeko and Austrian Aleksandar Dragović, writes Patria.
A video of this clash has been viewed as many as 15,000 times since last night, and many agreed that Džeko acted like a captain.
Namely, Muhamed Bešić made a fierce tackle on an Austrian player, and Aleksandar Dragović was the first to intervene in resolving the issue, physically attacking Bešić, after which Džeko took matters into his own hands. Immediately after the match, Dragović explained on his Facebook profile that this was all part of the game and that emotions cannot always be controlled.
Džeko, on the other hand, spoke about the match and said:
- We showed strength, character, unity on the field and in the stands. I think we are on the right track. Thank you for the great support, you are our strength - said Džeko to all fans and supporters.
Otherwise, this morning Austrian media are full of headlines like these: "Didn't they say they would sweep us away?", alluding to the fact that BiH did not win. Our team, led by Mehmed Baždarević, is satisfied with the draw (1:1) and what was shown on the field, but it is clear that the Austrians are more satisfied.
