Atojan: No seventh tranche until obligations are met!

We expect the BiH authorities to fulfill the previously undertaken obligations from the stand-by arrangement, said this morning exclusively for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) Ruben Atojan, resident representative of the International Monetary Fund in BiH.

The IMF mission from Washington left BiH after the sixth review of the credit agreement implementation was not concluded. This also postponed the payment of the seventh tranche of around 100 million marks.

- Currently, there is no IMF Executive Board meeting scheduled to consider the arrangement with BiH - Atojan confirmed for NAP.

According to him, the IMF requires the "fulfillment of previously undertaken obligations regarding better collection of taxes and social contributions".

- We expect the authorities to provide adequate assurance that budgets will remain within the frameworks set by parliaments and to ensure that governments can function in the absence of a finance minister. We expect to see strong progress in implementing these policies, including parliamentary engagement, to move forward and enable the IMF Executive Board to consider the sixth review under the stand-by arrangement - Atojan concluded. The conclusion of the sixth review is necessary for the transfer of the seventh tranche, which was planned for the end of the first quarter of this year.
