
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Member of the Crisis Staff and infectologist at SKB, Doctor Jurica Arapović confirmed the news previously reported by numerous media outlets about the death of the first infected man.
Arapović stated at a press conference that the infected person died in the late morning hours from cardiac arrest at the age of 53.
"So far, a total of 322 samples have been tested at SKB Mostar, of which 281 are from the HNK region. 53 samples were tested over the weekend. A total of 44 patients are positive for coronavirus so far, two of whom have died," Arapović explained.
In Konjic, 26 are positive, and in Mostar, 12. In Čitluk, there are six positive tests.
"Currently, 12 patients are being treated in the COVID hospital, four of whom are on respirators, and the others are in a moderately severe general condition. Two are recovering," Arapović stated.
Arapović emphasized that the situation is very serious, and that the mortality rate from coronavirus in the HNK region is currently close to four percent.
He appealed to everyone to be responsible towards themselves and others.
