Amel Tuka to lead Europe's team in dual meet against USA

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Our best athlete Amel Tuka, based on his 2019 results, has been selected for the European team, which will have a dual meet against the United States of America team on September 9th and 10th.

The dual meet between America and Europe will take place in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, and the European Athletics Association has bestowed great honor upon our athlete by inviting him to participate in the 800-meter race.

Tuka is currently the fastest European in the 800 meters and is Europe's main hope in this discipline in the competition against the Americans.

"This is a great honor for me, but also a great responsibility to prove myself in the dual meet against the Americans. I am overjoyed by the invitation to the European team, especially since I am the first athlete from Bosnia and Herzegovina to be selected for this team. Furthermore, this dual meet will be an ideal test for me before the World Championship in Doha, given that the competition will be truly fierce, but I believe in myself and I believe I can bring victory to Europe in my discipline," said Amel Tuka.

The gathering of athletes from Europe in Minsk is scheduled for September 7th, and the 800-meter race will take place on the second day of the competition (September 10th), starting at 19:28, and a total of 36 competitions will be held over the two days of the tournament (18 in each category).

Amel Tuka spent the past few days in BiH, and today he traveled for training in St. Moritz, where he will stay until the Diamond League Meeting in Zurich, where he also qualified for the final, and then the aforementioned dual meet against America will follow, and the World Championship in Doha, where our athlete has great ambitions and after a long time is going to a major competition as one of the favorites.
