U.S. Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack, as part of her visit to Banja Luka, will speak at the opening of the Service Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities on Friday, September 18th at 11:30 AM, reports the Patria News Agency.
The U.S. Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), assists persons with developmental disabilities in BiH by helping families and promoting social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
USAID has assisted in the establishment of this center through its Marginalized Groups Support Program, valued at 50,000 U.S. dollars, in partnership with the City of Banja Luka, and the non-profit organizations Svjetlice from Banja Luka and Dajte nam šansu from Sarajevo. The City of Banja Luka provided the premises, which were renovated with significant assistance from the private sector, according to a statement from the U.S. Embassy.
