
(Patria) - Emin Akseki, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina, today paid his first official visit to the Srebrenica Memorial Center since taking office as ambassador. This visit once again confirms the continuous support of the Republic of Turkey for preserving the memory of the genocide and the work of the Memorial Center.
Ambassador Akseki laid a wreath and paid tribute to the victims of the genocide at the cemetery of the Memorial Center. Accompanied by the Center's Director, Emir Suljagić, the ambassador signed the guest book, leaving a strong message of remembrance, respect, and solidarity towards the victims and their families.
During the visit, Ambassador Akseki also toured the preparations for the largest exhibition the Memorial Center is currently preparing, which is being realized with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). Afterwards, accompanied by curator Azir Osmanović, he visited the permanent museum exhibition "Steps of Those Who Did Not Cross," as well as the Memorial Center's Archive.
The visit concluded with a meeting with the Center's director and employees, including Assistant Director Fatima Begić Fazlić, curator Azir Osmanović, and the Center's PR Almasa Salihović. The meeting discussed strengthening future cooperation and the importance of institutional support for the culture of remembrance.
